You can find out more about the DBA below:

DBA

A key role of the DBA is to represent the interests of the UK design industry, and in particular its members, in the wider world.

The DBA connects and collaborates with a range of organizations, associations and government bodies in order to facilitate change in areas of importance to the industry. The DBA has built trusted relationships within Government at a National and European level.

APDIG

In the UK the DBA has supported the Associated Parliamentary Design and Innovation Group (APDIG) since 2006, and it continues to play an intrinsic role in inquiries, round table discussions and seminars at the House of Commons, all with the aim of getting design and the issues the industry faces, to the very heart of Government.

BEDA

The DBA also has a close relationship with the Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA) and the European Design Innovation Initiative, to the end goal of influencing design policy within the European Commission.

The DBA is also delivering a key project with European partners, which will ultimately enable better design management by governments across Europe.

Creative and cultural skills

The design industry of the future relies heavily on the quality of the education system supplying it and the skills of those moving up through the industry.

The DBA has teamed up with Creative & Cultural Skills to partner on the Skills and Capability Programme and the DBA committee work has focused on influencing the quality of student placements and course work.

Creative Industries Federation

The DBA is proud to be a founding supporter of the Creative Industries Federation — the new representative body of UK arts, cultural and creative industries.
